Niall Horan announced his debut LP, Flicker, on social media this afternoon (September 14). The title isn’t exactly a surprise. After all, the Irishman’s current tour is called The Flicker Sessions. However, the arrival of the cover and a concrete release date was enough to throw the hitmaker’s fans into a retweeting frenzy (30,000 shares in less than an hour). “It’s been a long time coming but I’m delighted to announce that my new album Flicker is out on the 20th of October,” he wrote. “I hope you enjoy it.”
After testing the waters with folky single “This Town,” Niall really found his feet as a solo performer with “Slow Hands.” The Julian Bunetta-produced earworm was a massive hit around the globe and is still climbing the Billboard Hot 100 on the back of surging pop radio airplay and healthy streaming. It would have already peaked a lot higher than number 14 if the former One Direction member released a video. (One was filmed but ultimately scrapped). See the full cover below.
