Avril Lavigne revealed some new details about her next album, the as-yet-untitled project that will be her sixth full-length release. The singer answered a fan’s question on Twitter Sunday (Jan. 21), providing a list of descriptive words about her new music.
«Personal, dear, intimate, dramatic, raw, powerful, strong and unexpected. This record is a true emotional journey,» Lavigne said.
Lavigne’s forthcoming album will be her first release on her new record label, BMG.
Back in September, the pop singer promised her Twitter followers that new music would «be here before you know it,» but she’s since been quiet on any further details. Her last album, the self-titled Avril Lavigne, was released more than four years ago.
In an interview earlier in 2017, she hinted at «going back to my roots a little bit… I got my start in church and at country fairs when I was a young child, and I think those earlier influences are definitely coming out now.»
