Camila Cabello gets a little competitive in a teaser for her new song “Crown.” The track, a collaboration with production duo Grey, is included on the soundtrack for Netflix’s first attempt at an in-home blockbuster movie, Bright. The film, a fantasy starring Will Smith, is not set to drop until the end of the month, but fans are in for a treat. In a new trailer released today (December 12), they will get to hear an extended snippet of the “Havana” hitmaker’s forthcoming release.
Billed as Elvish music for the film, the track sounds like an atmospheric bop. “No skin off your back to blame us. Now waiting on the world to save us,” she declares in the action-packed trailer. The 20-year-old shows off the full range of her vocals including her feathery high notes, but the lyrics are even more interesting. “I’m running for the crown. I’m coming for the crown,” she confidently announces as explosions take place on screen. Looks like this pop princess means business and will not be content with second place.
“Crown” is shaping up to be another exemplary release from Camila and Grey. With “Havana” still burning up the charts and a pair of new promo tracks off her debut album, she is giving fans a lot to be thankful for this month. This sounds like another hit, and it will be in good company. Netflix has recruited a slew of heavy-hitters for their soundtrack. The trio will be joined by Bastille, Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors, Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla $ign, Future, Migos and many others. Watch the preview and get a taste of the new track below!
