DJ Khaled set the internet alight yesterday (March 1) when he teased a new single called “Top Off.” With all due respect, the main cause of the excitement was a featured artist listed only as B. The song arrived this morning and, as expected, Beyonce steals the show. The “Wild Thoughts” producer sets the flashy tone early — opening the bone-rattling banger with an intro from Jay Z. Future then steps in for the irritatingly catchy chorus, before Hov returns for a killer verse. He ends it by declaring, “Bey, put these fuckboys on notice.”
And she does. “I’m the only lady here, still the realest nigga in the room,” Beyonce spits. “I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two.” The 36-year-old continues to tell it like it is, referencing different moments in her career. “My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat,” Queen Bey brags. “Fuck it up and then leave, come back, fuck it up and leave again.” No lies detected. “Top Off” is the lead single from the followup to DJ Khaled’s hit-filled Grateful LP. Expect to hear a lot more of it over the next few months. Press play below.
