Ed Sheeran’s “Galway Girl” is a two-time Oscar nominee! The British singer-songwriter, 26, debuted the new music video for his upbeat tune “Galway Girl” on Wednesday, which stars actress Saoirse Ronan. The 23-year-old Brooklyn star appears in the video, which is mostly shown from Sheeran’s point of view as if he’s holding the camera the entire time.
Scenes are shot around Galway, Ireland, as the pair dance in a pub, run through the streets, and surprise unsuspecting locals.
In one funny scene, Ronan writes on Sheeran’s arm and a tattoo artist then inks over it only to reveal she wrote, “Galway Grill.”
The GRAMMY winner previously talked about Ronan’s prank in concert saying, “She really took the piss out of me. It actually says ‘grill,’ g-r-i-l-l…I’m actually kind of proud of her. It’s the kind of thing that I would do.” Ronan herself was born in New York, but both of her parents hail from Dublin, Ireland.
