Liam Payne’s second solo single, “Bedroom Floor,”arrives on Friday (October 20). The pop star has been teasing the banger, which was co-written by Jacob Kasher and Charlie Puth, with an instrumental snippet and a still from the video. He doesn’t give too much away, but the sight of the 24-year-old perched on the side of a bed was enough to get fans frothing. Expectations for the release are high given the success of “Strip That Down,” which soared all the way to number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
That made him the third 1D alum to crack the top 10 after Zayn Malik and Harry Styles. (Niall Horan came incredibly close with “Slow Hands,” which peaked at number 11). It will interesting to see what direction Liam’s new single takes. “Strip That Down” was a fairly generic addition to mainstream pop/R&B space currently ruled by Justin Bieber, but the snippet he shared on Instagram sounds a lot more pop.
