Nick Jonas shared kind words in support of Selena Gomez after the singer revealed that she had a kidney transplant last summer.
Jonas found out about his friend and former girlfriend’s surgery just like everyone else, he told SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio show. Listen to the interview below.
«I was just as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram, but wow — that’s just incredible, and the strength she’s shown through all of that is amazing and inspiring,» Jonas said.
Gomez announced the transplant on social media Thursday morning (Sept. 14), explaining that it was due to complications with the chronic inflammatory disease Lupus. Her friend, actress Francia Raisa, donated the kidney.
«I’m pumped for her,» Jonas said in the interview. «I’m happy to see she’s doing well, it seems, and she was able to get the surgery, and her friend helping her is a beautiful thing. So it’s all amazing.»
