The movie, which sees Detective Pikachu linking up with a 21-year-old Tim Goodman (Justice Smith) to track down his missing father, is set on the neon-lit streets of Ryme city. In Ryme, Pokémon live alongside humans — it would seem, however, Tim is one of the few people actually able to understand Pikachu’s language.
