However, he realized he was ready to get down on one knee after they welcomed their first two children into the world, bought a second house and spoke to a pastor who made him see marriage in a new light.
McConaughey still clearly remembers the day he popped the question in 2011. «I remember hitting the knee, looking into her eyes, and I remember her face,» he recalled. «I remember this smile coming up from her feet. I remember her having to catch her breath.»
«Out comes this screaming little life with a pair of balls,» he joked of his eldest son’s birth in 2008. «Man is never more masculine than after the birth of his first child,» he continued. «I don’t mean in a macho way. I mean in terms of giving a man strength.»
