Mark your calendars because new Nicki Minaj is coming. Things have been heating up for the rapper since she dropped dual singles, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li,” in April. They marked a welcome return after months of mystery. Since then, the surprises have continued. Last week, she kicked things into high gear with a pair of vibrant videos. Today (May 7), the 35-year-old confirmed the album’s title and release date while walking the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala. Turning heads in a stunning scarlet gown complete with a jeweled headdress and matching wrap, the hitmaker dropped the news during an interview.
When asked what made the night so special, Nicki made her big announcement. “It’s a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming June 15 and it’s called Queen, and I can’t wait,” she told a reporter. Queen will be the “Anaconda” diva’s fourth LP and her first since she rolled out The Pinkprint in 2014. The era is off to a bold start. “Chun-Li” has already made an appearance in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Barbie Tingz” peaked at the number 25 spot. Paired with their new visuals and an appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend, they may reach new peaks in the coming weeks. Check out the confirmation below.
