Billboard reports that Grande’s rise to the top comes after she apparently gained more than 13 million new followers in the last four months, as the singer also maintains a constantly active presence on the social platform. In addition, Ariana Grande recently dropped her thank u, next album, further fueling her relevance and current dominance in media. In comparison, Selena Gomez recently took a break from the social media platform between September to January in order to seek mental health treatment, however, the singer has returned but with a minimal output in content.
Gomez previously revealed her Lupus diagnosis in 2015, and in 2016, she took some time off after reports of struggling with the disease as well as anxiety and depression.
