The Chemical Brothers are back with a new party track “C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l.”
The veteran electronic music producers take a back seat in the official video as directors and longtime collaborators Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall conjure a posse of dancing digital creatures.
You get the feeling you’re watching a tripped out episode of Sesame Street as Smith and Lyall’s loose-limbed creatures fill the screen and spell out the word “Chemical.”
It’s the first taste of new music since the duo of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simon last year released Born in the Echoes, their eighth studio album and first in five years. The British pair recently announced a vinyl reissue campaign for each of those albums, dating back to their 1995 career launch pad, Exit Planet Dust.
