David Guetta has a lot. Ever since his simply, catchy dance tunes crossed over to dominate mainstream pop radio, his life has been one dreamy whirlwind of worldwide travel, large-scale performances, and certainly many trips to the bank. Since 2012, he’s been spending more time in India, a country that finds itself falling ever harder under dance music’s spell, but the dance community prides itself on being a positive force in the world, and Guetta has found a way to use his superstar powers for the ultimate good.
Good guy Guetta will pack his bags for India once again, this time with a special stop in Bangalore on Jan. 12, for a show he hopes could change people’s lives. It’s called #Guetta4Good, and it’s presented in part by India’s massive festival company Sunburn. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Magic Bus, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children get the education and social experiences they need to become thriving, satisfied adults.
“We are extremely excited to have the iconic David Guetta perform in India for this noble cause and would like to thank him once again for his benevolent gesture,” Sunburn’s CEO Karan Singh is quoted in a press release. “The idea of using music as a medium to raise funds to support our children is one that has connected with the youth of India and am sure we will see an overwhelming response for David’s performance come January. We have always believed that music transcends all boundaries and this is a unique way of integrating dance music with the concept of supporting a charity has certainly come of age.”
