Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki debuted their new song «Just Hold On» on The X Factor UK stage at London’s Wembley Arena Saturday night (Dec. 10). The One Direction member’s late mother, Johannah Deakin, who lost her battle with leukemia at age 42 in the early hours of Dec. 7, wished for her son to go on with the surprise performance.
«It’s not over until it’s all been said,» sings Tomlinson on the track. «It’s not over until your dying breath. So what do you want them to say when you’re gone? That you gave up or that you kept going on? What do you do when a chapter ends? Do you close the book and never read it again? Where do you go when your story’s done? You can be who you were or who you’ll become.»
«All the support has been incredible! Let’s do this together tonight,» Tomlinson tweeted before the show.
«Honored to share the stage with you,» Aoki said on Twitter soon after.
«Just Hold On,» released on Ultra, was written by Tomlinson, Aoki, Eric Rosse, Sasha Sloan and Sir Nolan and produced by Aoki.
