Este domingo – 23 de mayo – se llevó a cabo una edición más de los Billboard Music Awards en el Microsoft Theatre en Los Angeles, California. La ceremonia corrió bajo la conducción del menor de los integrantes de los Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas, y contó con grandes momentos.
Y es que, como era de esperarse, The Weeknd fue el artista que más galardones se llevó al arrasar en diez de las 16 categorías en las que se encontraba nominado. Con ello, Abel se convirtió en el artista más premiado de los Billboard Music Awards 2021, mostrando así su gran talento tras ser rechazado de los Premios Grammy.
Además de ser el artista más premiado, The Weeknd también ofreció una de las presentaciones musicales más impactantes de la noche. El canadiense se apoderó de la transmisión para interpretar su éxito ‘Save your tears’ sobre un convertible rojo rodeado de otros iguales.
Pese a que a simple vista pareciera una presentación simple, lo cierto es que los autos que acompañaron a The Weeknd estuvieron perfectamente coordinados hasta que éste se detuvo y continuó con su presentación de pie mientras que la coreografía vehicular seguía su ritmo. ¡Checa el vídeo!

Billboard Music Awards 2021: Los mejores momentos de la noche
Aunado a los grandes momentos que nos regaló The Weeknd, los BBMAs 2021 también contaron con la presencia de diversas celebridades que acapararon la atención e hicieron bailar a todos los presentes.
Entre las mejores presentaciones en vivo se encuentra el espectacular cierre que le dieron los Jonas Brothers al evento, mismo que contó con una colaboración especial con Marshmello. Por su lado, Twenty One Pilots llegó al escenario de los BBMAs para interpretar su más reciente sencillo ‘Shy Away’, mientras que Bad Bunny y Karol G le dieron ese sabor latino a la velada.

P!nk fue galardonada con el premio ‘Icon‘ debido a su trayectoria musical, mientras que Drake recibió el premio especial ‘Artist of the Decade’ por sus logros en la industria durante los últimos diez años. El rapero protagonizó el momento más emotivo de la ceremonia al recibir el galardón acompañado de su pequeño hijo, Adonis Graham, a quien mantuvo en secreto por años.
